Smith Reynolds Airport in Winston-Salem is centrally located in North Carolina and uniquely poses equal distances from all airports and airstrips across the state. Smith Reynolds was once one of the busiest commercial airports in North Carolina when it was home to Piedmont Airlines prior to its merger with USAir. Since that time, Smith Reynolds has become a large general aviation hub serving central North Carolina business and recreational flight. In 2025, Smith Reynolds enjoyed a significant renovation to its runways and terminal, including runway and taxiway resurfacing, a new pilot’s lounge and amenities, and two new corporate hangars. 

Smith Reynolds is the perfect location for student flight training due to its central location in North Carolina, multiple runways, and exposure to a staffed Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower. 

The Twin City Aviation office is located at 3821 N Liberty Street, Suite 200B, Winston-Salem, NC 27105 on the grounds of Smith Reynolds Airport. Twin City Aviation aircraft is stored and maintained on the grounds as well.
